About Patty Shortreed
Bringing the joy of music and authentic expression into people’s lives is one of my greatest pleasures.
Whether you are interested in voice or singing lessons, piano lessons, or coaching to speak more effectively to audiences, I want you to have fun and feel good about yourself. In addition to helping you with your musical or speaking skills, you will learn how to feel confident and make an authentic connection with your audience. That’s when the magic happens.
Students often tell me they appreciate how supportive their lessons are. That has its roots in my background as a successful facilitator and empowerment coach. Plus, as an artist, I have experience performing for audiences large and small, planning and producing entire concerts, and recording self-produced CDs.
My Musical Journey
My music career began at age eleven; by eighteen I was playing professionally at the Banff Springs Hotel and the Calgary Petroleum Club. After a career in the corporate world I returned to my musical roots and re-awakened my voice mid-life, performing throughout Alberta in both private and popular public venues and self-produced concerts. I founded Calgary’s “One World Choir” and produced three solo CDs featuring original works.
Live Your Dreams
I know from personal experience that anything is possible at any life stage! From my journey in the halls of power in the world’s most profitable oil company, to a dusty cement floor in an ashram in rural India, to my performance on Oprah’s stage I learned that you can do anything you set your mind to.
With more than 25 years’ experience in business, public speaking, workshop design and facilitation, and a master’s degree in organization effectiveness from Pepperdine University, I have developed the skills and insights to help others achieve their dreams. I look forward to helping you, too.

Community Support
As guest speaker and presenter at Unity of Calgary, Patty’s presentations combine musical performance with insights about how to approach personal growth and authentic life expression. Watch the video at right to get a glimpse of how Patty helps students grow in their “inner game” for more confidence and presence in their singing. As a musician, Patty performed at and donated to a benefit concert which raised over $10,000 for the High River flood relief in 2013.
